FOR CREATING A BEAUTIFUL PORTRAIT

Order the drawing of your best friend. Each artwork is crafted with great attention to detail, ensuring you not only get the best likeness of the subject, but also a stunning painting that your family will cherish forever. I use high quality archival materials ensuring your drawing will last for many years.

Working from one or more photographs, I can guide you through the process ensuring you get exactly what you want. If you are in the Outaouais region, you may be able to take advantage of the free photography session offered to get the best possible images that I can work from. Otherwise I am happy to work from client images provided they are of good quality. You can get tips on taking photos in the F.A.Q. menu.

You can also offer a gift certificate of any amount for a portrait, making it the perfect gift. In this way, the recipient can be involved in the planning stages of his work and witness its evolution. I have been told several times that the joy of commissioning a drawing is to see it progress. This is an aspect of my work that I like to share!

How it works

1.
Waiting list and booking

I don’t have a waiting list at the moment. This means the portrait will be started, completed and shipped as soon as you order. To order a portrait, simply go to the Contact page and fill out the form. I would love to hear any ideas you have for your portrait, no matter how creative they can be!

2.
Payment process

A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total amount is required to order a portrait. After booking, you can provide me with the photographs necessary for the realization of the portrait. I’ll show you a mockup of your portrait so you can get an better idea of how the original looks. When you confirm the mockup, then you will pay 50% of the total cost. After that, I will proceed to create the original. I accept payment by bank transfer, a receipt will then be sent to you by email.
When the work is completely finished and you are completely satisfied, you will pay the remaining 25%.
To summarize: the booking: 25%, after your agreement on the mockup: 50%, at the end of the drawing: 25%

3.
Reference photo & personality

After paying your deposit I will need some photos of the subject you wish to portray, this could be a dog, cat, horse, bird etc. Or a combination of several. Having different photos from different perspectives will help me tremendously to get an idea of how the subject will look like. Images should be (if possible) neither too close nor too far from the subject and (if possible) at the same level as the animal. High quality photos are appreciated but not absolutely necessary. If you don’t have many photos of the subject, or if you’re not sure what to send, just send what you have and I’ll find a way to work with the photos you provide. I will also need a description of the subject, something about his personality, his story, anything you want to share with me. You will need to transfer the photographs by using a file transfer application such as Dropbox or WeTransfer.

4.
Mockup creation

As soon as I have the images in hand, I will create different mockups from the photos you provided me, using different compositions, perspectives, combination of different subjects (if it is a multi-subject portrait), etc. I will also make color adjustments, eyes, light source, to make the portrait more visually interesting. I will offer you up to 10 different background colors for you to choose the one that will go best in your interior or the one that will best suit your subject.

5.
Creating the original

When we’ve confirmed and agreed on the desired mockup, it’s time for me to focus on the original. Keep in mind that some portraits may take a little longer than expected. Art is a very subjective matter and sometimes it can be difficult to calculate exactly how long a piece will take me to achieve, that’s why I prefer to give 2 months deadlines and if I finish earlier, that’s great. During the creation of the original, we will be in touch in order to send you images showing the evolution of the portrait.

6.
Shipping

Finally, after confirming that you are happy with your portrait, I will ship it to you. The portrait is sent extremely well packaged and protected. I take great care and attention in my packaging process. My portraits arrive nicely packaged accompanied by a white mat, a certificate of authenticity of the painting, signed and dated both on the certificate and on the drawing.
I use UPS they are very reliable and extremely fast in their deliveries. I will send you a tracking number for your package.
Delivery is not included in the price of the drawing.
